The Lavender in my garden does really well for Vermont. I think it is because it is growing on the south side of the house, and right up against a wall. It takes in sun for most of the day and the rocks behind it provide radient heat in the cold times.
I sewed in circles of old text and photos and blended them into the painting. I think that plants get to know us and appreciate being taken care of and these images I add are some of thier possible memories and wisdom.
