Medicine for House Blessing

Part of a collaborative series with Spill the Tea Sis Apothecary, inspired by Mischa Roy’s herbal spell candle blends.

This painting is part of a series celebrating the power and beauty of herbs, each inspired by blends created by Mischa Roy of Spill the Tea Sis Apothecary in Northampton, MA.

The House Blessing blend combines herbs traditionally used to cleanse and bless a space, helping to create a peaceful home or call in the one you envision.

Home blessing rituals are found in cultures around the world. They often begin with a physical cleaning—clearing clutter and making space—followed by a spiritual cleansing through meditation, chanting, bell ringing, or the use of smoke or water to release stagnant energy and welcome positivity.

The herbal blend featured in this painting includes:

  • Chamomile – Calming and comforting, it invites peace into the home.

  • Flowering Mint – Uplifting and clarifying, it refreshes energy and clears the air.

  • Lavender – Known for its soothing properties and associations with protection and serenity.

  • Cottage Roses – A symbol of love and beauty, they bring warmth and affection.

  • Rose Hips – Rich in nutrients and emotional strength, they offer a sense of grounded well-being.

Together, these herbs create a layered intention of comfort, clarity, and protection—woven into the visual language of the painting.

Medicine for House Blessing will be available on May 23 at Spill the Tea Sis Apothecary and May 24–26 at the Paradise City Art Festival in Northampton, MA.
